Went to see the movie The Hangover this afternoon. If you haven't seen it, The Hangover is a comedy.
I was laughing out loud during the movie. You caught that it was a comedy, right? I may have been laughing loud, but I am from So Cal and have been to Las Vegas more than once, I've driven on that highway, I've been in Las Vegas Wedding chapels a couple of times when a friend decided that was a great place to tie the knot.
The movie resonated with me because of all of the things that I was familiar with, but also because it was funny in a vulgar yet hilarious way.
At the end of the movie we were still sitting watching the credits. We were the only ones left and the last person to leave stopped and yelled up at us where we were sitting,
"You people really need to watch movies at home. You were laughing too loud."
When did people get such a stick up their asses? It was a comedy. I wasn't talking during the movie, or texting, or being obnoxious in any other way. I was just laughing at the hilarity on the screen.
Then the lady turned to walk out and my hubby says, "You really need to pull that stick out of your ass lady. It was a comedy."
I told him to shush. I didn't want to get into an altercation. Because she was really talking to me.
But really...come on...did I do something wrong? I go to movies for the escape. If something tickles me, I'm not going to put my hand over my mouth and suppress my laughter.
Just checking if protocol has changed and no one sent me the memo.

I didn't have to head in to work too early today so I had the Food Network on and caught a little of Paula Deen's Home Cooking program. I have seen her show numerous times and I have never made any of her recipes. I have never seen anyone in my life cook with more butter, bacon, and every other kind of fat you can imagine. It is insane how much fat is in every one of her recipes. I watch the show and my cholesterol starts climbing.
The thing that seems crazy was that there was a five minute abdominal exercise program commercial toward the end of her show. Right after she put 2 whole cubes of butter in some kind of apple crisp thing. While we were waiting for them to come back and show the apple crisp we watched the ab commercial. As if anyone who eats the kind of stuff Paula cooks could give a crap about their abs. Frankly most of her cooking seems like it is for people who have just given up. Don't get me wrong, some of the stuff looks really tasty, but it would be like a couple of times a year thing, not every meal the way she cooks like that.

Oh, and while I am on the Food Network thing, I have always wondered about the cleavage in all of the women cooks on their network. Especially Giada de Laurentis. Her knife work is definitely sub-par. Her hands do not appear sure and steady, but she has cleavage. I guess that is what makes her qualified. Don't get me wrong, women with cleavage can cook, but it shouldn't be the main attraction, it should just be a bonus.
And then I noticed them showing some hand porn today too. She made something where she blended it with her hands and they followed her hands full frame to the sink, pumping white creamy soap onto them, rubbing them sensually together, then rinsing and patting them dry.
Who are these shows aimed at? Seriously? I bet lonely guys Tivo her show so they can watch them later to well, you know...

You know I was gonna ramble on and on about this. But instead I'll just post a pic of my two favorite Food Network show hosts. Mr. Alton Brown and the Barefoot Contessa herself, Ina Garten. He is amazing. No cleavage, no hand porn, but this guy really knows his stuff. He talks about the Science of Cooking. His show is very educational. He is great. And Ina has such wonderful technique, you just know she has lived in the kitchen her entire life.

Last night the movie Sense and Sensibility adapted from the Jane Austen novel was just starting on Showtime as I settled in for the evening. This is one of my favorite book and movie quotes ever.

Summary: This is a follow up to Dean's New Look Is Driving Sammy Crazy:, where Dean is in a situation of temporarily having to wear glasses due to an injury but only while reading and doing computer work. Sam had been slowly going mad with lusting after a scholarly looking Dean. In the first part, Sam snaps and throws Dean up against the wall for some up against the wall sex while Dean is wearing his glasses. They had joked about Dean looking like a school teacher and the only thing missing was a ruler. So the ruler has definitely come into play in each subsequent chapter. In this one, Dean has passed his practical exam and gotten his ruler back. Sammy had better watch out…

I am just back from vacation. My sister lives at a little resort at the Colorado River on the California side, across from Arizona.
Because my asthma is so bad when hubby was visiting her in January, he noticed the little place next door to her was for sale and that seemed a good place for me to go in winter when my breathing is the worst.
We bought a little bitty place next door to her, but it is right on the lagoon which funnels into the Colorado River. It has its own boat dock, and the purchase price included the SeaDoo personal water craft. The two seat version.
So, I spent the week flying to Phoenix, Arizona and driving there and cleaning it up and getting it ready for us to use. Another benefit is next year during Major League Baseball's Spring Training we are just about a 3 hour drive from all of the Arizona spring training facilities. Since we both love baseball that is awesome.
