This is a silly question about Potlucks. You know, where everybody brings something and you all share.
I work in a place with over 400 people in it. There have been a couple of potlucks that were for the entire place. But my personal workgroup only has about 15 people in it. Last Friday we had our own potluck. That is fairly common. I have walked past other work groups since I have been there and seen that they had done their own too.
This is where the silly question comes in:
If a workgroup of about 15 people in it has a potluck and they set it up in their own little area and don’t put a sign on it telling everyone and anyone that they are welcome to partake, is it RUDE for other people to just come over and help themselves?
I think it is horribly rude. Not that I don’t like to share, but in a million years I would never just walk up to somebody else’s potluck and start helping myself without being invited or asking if it was okay. And I can’t imagine asking.
Am I crazy?
Because our work area is near the perimeter of the building and there is a large conference room near us and the Management Team, yes…the people who run the place all just popped in and helped themselves.
Some of them reached over the cubicle wall even.
But the woman who actually runs the joint came in and started making a plate. Being the brown noser that I am, I told her to please help herself to a brownie as I had made them. But seriously, if she wasn’t in charge of the joint, including approving raises and promotions and stuff I would have been a lot more bitchy and given her the evil-eye, like WTF do you think you are doing? LOL
Any ideas? Am I nuts? Am I right? Do I just not get it?
Oh and sorry I haven't been around much. Work consumes my life right now. And that is a pretty good thing, but does not give me much spare time. I try to read my f-list daily but I hardly have time to comment, but it is nice to keep tabs on what you all are up to. I didn't realize it has been more than a month since I have made an entry. My goodness, you all might not even remember who I am.
I had the feeling that all the time that I spend online at LJ and my computer in general was just a waste of time. Certainly it has been a great diversion, and it is fun, and writing and posting stories and commenting on other people’s posts and replying to comments to my posts has been very enjoyable.
But I realized recently that there are so many skills that I learned here at LJ and a few other online locations are what make me good at my new job.
Who knew that LJ could help me be a productive employee? Not me.

I had a coffee with me, and I tried a small bite. Oh my goodness, that was really good stuff!!! The combination of the candy and the coffee was amazing.
I just needed to make a post so that you will all try them and get hooked too so they don't take them off the market. One time I was in love with a candy and they took them away and I pouted a bunch, but it didn't bring my candy back.
This is a link to a candy review site. It would seem the reviewer was also very high on the Reese's Dark.

I started a new job Aug 31. I took a little vacation the week before. These are some pics that I took at the place that I stayed. It was absolutely beautiful. I struggled to limit it to under ten pics. All of the pics except the last one I took when I got up very early.
The grounds were bordered by a cherry orchard and the area was terraced with 3 levels and had 2 ponds, coi fish and little waterfalls. I was able to feed the fish everyday. Some of them were 10 years old. Very pretty pets.
I had been having my morning coffee and then grabbed my camera and took a bunch of shots. I hope you like them.
The last pic is a sunset. Obviously.

I was driving down the road from the post office on the way back to the office. My route took me past a cemetary. Usually there is nobody there or there is a large group for a funeral. But today as my vehicle got closer I noticed there was somebody there, a lone, solitary figure.
