Latest update on the health issues.

My Health Coach had been after me to weigh and measure myself again.

My total weight loss is 26 pounds which has slowed down a bit.  But in the last 4 months I've lost another 8 inches for a total of 16 inches since March.

What that means is that I am putting on some muscle too because I am smaller than a 3 pound weight loss of fat would account for in the last 4 months.  However due to my blood sugar problems it is very difficult to exercise more than 15 minutes at a time and I know that is a huge factor in it slowing down, but I am just pecking away at it a little bit at a time.

I am still eating super healthy, and super clean, which isn't as boring as one would think.  It takes a lot to do all my prep cooking but I usually cook on Sunday and have enough stuff for dinners for the entire week and the hubby makes me a salad every night to go with whatever I made.

The best part of it is that I know by modifying my diet that my cholesterol is still got to be under control.  I won't be having to blood test again until December, but I am quite optimistic that it will still be really good like it was a few months ago, or even better.

Someone asked me what I eat.  Here are a few things (oh and I'm a vegetarian and have to eat low carb because of blood sugar issues):

Homemade soups -

northern bean and vegetable
a variety of different vegetable soups
split pea with vegies


Miscellaneous -

black bean chile with lots of bellpeppers in it
marinara and vegie sauce to put on top of pasta
homemade refried beans

Other things I eat/drink daily -

lots of water
skim milk
yogurt
no butter
minimal cheese
protein drink from powder or the liquid ones from Costco (high protein/low carb)
salads with balsamic vinagrette dressing and garbanzo or kidney beans
low carb/high protein/high fiber wraps - with hummus and salad vegies or filled with black beans and salsa for burittos
cut up vegies
low sodium V-8
and coffee with splenda and skim milk

I'm definitely not perfect but I am trying to do my best.  I am too young to be on meds the rest of my life because of cholesterol problems.  I still have a little treat every now and then, but I do try not to over-do it and not beat myself up if I have a little lapse.  My blood sugar problems keep me on the straight and narrow because if I eat wrong I feel sick.
